CONTEST RULES

​The 2024 Pumpkin Decorating Contest begins October 1st.  This event is open to all ages, so get creative!  No carved pumpkins, only exterior decoration.  Pumpkins must represent a book or movie character.  Voting by the staff and public will begin October 30th.  Winners announced at noon on October 31st.

• ​Open to all ages (one entry per individual or team/family)
• DO NOT carve it as it won’t last.
• Real pumpkins along with plastic ones or gourds accepted
• You may use any material you wish to decorate your pumpkin. No store bought pre decorated pumpkins
• Pumpkins must represent a book or movie character
• Drop off your decorated pumpkin at the Gilpin County Public Library during regular hours from October 1st - October 27th
• Winners will be notified at noon October 31st
• Contest ends October 31st.  Pumpkins must be picked up by 4:00pm on Friday, November 4th. All entries not picked up by this time will be discarded
• Keep it Family Friendly.
