The Laptop Lending Program is made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The purpose is to make computer access more broadly available and convenient to Gilpin County residents.

Requirements:
To borrow a laptop, patrons must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Reside in Gilpin County.
- Possess a Gilpin County Public Library Card. Click here to register.
- Provide identification with proof of current address.
- Complete and sign the Laptop Lending Agreement and Waiver.
How it works:
- Patron may reserve a laptop in the catalog or inquire about availability at the Circulation Desk.
- Laptops are checked out and returned to staff at the Circulation Desk.
- The loan period for a laptop is one week.
- Laptops can be renewed up to two times if not on hold for another patron.
- Patron is fully responsible for the laptop during the checkout period, including damaged, missing, or unreturned equipment.
About the laptops:
- Laptops are Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series.
- Laptops have Microsoft Office Standard applications (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word) installed.
- Laptops are set to restore to their original condition after every reboot. They do not save files, web history, personal information, etc.
- Patrons are recommended to save files using an external flash drive or cloud storage to prevent losing data or documents.
